Merrow Corn Maze
On September 17th, the Community Exploration class went to the Merrow Corn Maze which is located near the University of Connecticut campus for the second trip. The Merrow Corn Maze is a giant maze that has its own different topics every year. This year’s title is ‘Connecticut firsts’. It takes 5 to 10 minutes to drive there from the campus.
At the Merrow Corn Maze, first we went into the small entrance. According to this year’s title, there were 25 hidden questions about Connecticut firsts for us to find. Because of the hot weather, it was hard to go around in the maze, but we all had a purpose to wander around in the huge maze, which was the answers to the questions. When we met other friends while wandering, we were really happy to see each other. Also, of course, when we found the answers of the questions, we got really excited.
After the trip, we realized that we learned something about Connecticut. For example, we learned the fact that the first Frisbie was thrown in New Haven. Even though the corn of the Merrow Corn Maze was old and dry, we enjoyed getting lost. It was very funny to get lost and nervous and finally get excited when we found the answers.
The score for this trip was 7.8
