Vanilla Bean Cafe & Sharpe Hill Vineyard Winery.

On Saturday , October 4th, the community exploration class went to the Vanilla Bean Cafe and the Sharpe Hill Vineyard Winery in Pomfret. It was Saturday, so we had enough time to visit two places.

Before we went to the Sharpe Hill Winery, we visited the Vanilla Bean Cafe--which is one of the famous cafes in Pomfret-- to drink hot coffee and eat some bread. When we entered the cafe, it was full of smells of coffee. We ordered coffee, bread and brunch , and enjoyed them. It was a good time for us to share our opinion about the taste of coffee and the decoration of the cafe. The pictures in the cafe looked special-- colors were strong-- , and there was an old bicycle on the ceiling. Also, we met lots of people who live in Pomfret and have brunch in the cafe, and they looked like they were enjoying their lives. We experienced about American people's weekend life.

After drinking coffee, we moved to the Sharpe Hill Vineyard Winery to look around the vineyard and taste wines. It was a great day to look around the vineyard. It was not too cold , and the sky was dark blue. Thanks to the good weather, on the top of the vineyard hill we could see Rhode Island. After looking around the vineyard, we tasted wines in the winery. There were 11 kinds of wines , and we could select 5 kinds out of 11. At first we picked five persons who chose wines and each person selected one wine. Then, we drank the wine together at the same time. Drinking the wine, we chatted about the taste of the wine, this trip and the weather. It was wonderful. We will never forget that time. It was autumn , and there was the vineyard behind us , and the sky was beautiful. Everything was perfect!!!

I'd like to recommend the Vanilla Bean Cafe and the Sharpe Hill Vineyard Winery to other UCAELI students. You have to go there and enjoy them.
